BrainBit's partner Gelo has developed Gelo Impulse VR device — a virtual reality headset with a built-in brain-computer interface (BCI) with a data reader and SDK for developers.

Key features:

  • The device allows viewing VR and video content while monitoring the electrical activity in the users’ brain
  • The received data contains information about alpha, beta, gamma brain waves, and also parameters of the users’ concentration and relaxation level
  • The interface can be also used as a controller for information input
  • SDK lets you create your own gaming BCI-content based on Unreal Engine 4 and interact with it via Android installed on the VR headset

The headset consists of:

  • Pico G2 4K wireless (VR headset) 
  • Brain-computer interface device with an amplifier and 7 dry electrodes to EEG in the parietal, central and occipital lobes from the brain

BCI-headset is consumer-friendly and comfortable to wear. It is a stand-alone device so there is no need for a separate PC or smartphone to use it.

About SDK:

Using our SDK you can create neuro-controlled video and gaming content on Unreal Engine 4 and run it on Gelo Impulse in VR without a separate PC or smartphone. 

  • It works with two BCI-paradigms — P300 and Neurofeedback
  • The system enables you to perform up to 8 different actions per unit of a digital image, while 99% of similar devices barely perform 2–3 actions
  • There are several demos, for example IQ tests in VR where you have to choose correct answer using concentration (P300 based)

  • Allows to record raw EEG and resistance data
  • Supports LSL streaming
  • Supports EDF/BDF data conversion
